The approach I have taken for the Forgotten Landscape book is different than my previous two publications, Rites of Passage (2011) and Reflections of the Emerald Isle (2014).
Instead of going through the independent online publisher route I decided to use an actual publisher and print house to produce a limited number of books.
I decided to select Best Print located in my father’s home village of Qrendi, Malta as the print house. It will be the first time where I will become intimate with the designers in how the book will physically be put together.
Though this is a small project, it is an absolute pleasure to support the Maltese publishing industry. In my short time communicating to individuals well established in this environment, I have learned that the Maltese publication industry is alive and growing.
Having Quintano Forlag as the publisher will bring credibility to the project and it is an honor to have this book be the first Quintano publication to be done in Malta.
The Quintano brand has produced excellent work in Norway and I feel extremely gracious for my work to be incorporated in such a prestigious catalog.
At the end of the day, as I work in my small seaside maisonette in Marsascala, Malta until the wee mornings, I always try to take a step back and remind myself of the objective of the book which is to simply tell the story of these forgotten landscapes through art, photography and historical research.
