Birthday
I sat down with my past under the willow tree where we coalesced ideas
We discussed beautiful memories and the people we impacted and touched us

I reassured my youth that the future was bright and that the impossible is possible
My youth held my hand and told me to never forget to dream
To live in the moment you must love the past

We locked hands and jumped down towards the spiral of life
Once locked into the infinite venture we begin again

Tonight I joined my friends from the 2023 Cinema City Film Festival to sit near the Maltese shores of Xrobb l-Għaġin to enjoy a screening of the Maltese film Luzzu (2021).
I was was pleasantly surprised at the production and was happy to see it while I scarfed down my pepperoni pizza.
A good night out and one to remember in the accolades of Mark Magro.

Tonight I delight myself by delving into a seventeenth century water cistern in the heart of Valletta, Malta to enjoy the experimental music of Luís Bittencourt.
Hypnotic and atmospheric, I close my eyes and become swept away into the deluge of the past, present and future merging together in a sweet embrace of present.
As the concert drew to a close, I emerged from the underground and under the guidance of the moon and lively city I make my way home to close the day under my sheets of life.

I am proud to have been involved as a judge for the 2023 Cinema City Open Air Festival in Valletta, Malta.
I met a wonderful group of people and thoroughly enjoyed the conversations. I like to thank the Valletta Cultural Agency for arranging the wonderful free event. Though it rained on the first two days, it was promptly rescheduled and beautifully orchestrated. In the end, I come out of this experience creatively recharged.
